Board of Supervisors Approve $100 Reward for Arrest of Fincham

The Board of Supervisors, in session Wednesday morning, appropriated $100 to be offered as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of George Robert Fincham, wanted for the murder of Mrs. Terry Sick on the night of October 13 at State Mills. The motion was made following a request of Sheriff J. M. Gilbert.

Anthony James W. Fincham gave a talk before the board soaking the meaning of the amendment to double the jail tax to be voted upon in the election on Tuesday.

A simultaneous enactment of the salary's auditing bills as well as several shops and poultry chains were authorized for payment to the board.

J. E. Johnson, resident engineer for the state highway, presented the final summary highway budget for the fiscal year. This was unanimously approved by the board. Mr. Johnson reviewed with the board some of the road improvements recently made, and he also stated that one of the main needs of the county road system was the construction of new bridges. He stated he hoped these would undergo construction in the near future.

The request of Robert L. Brown for some address to the committee office was granted by the board. Mr. Brown said that the address would eliminate the necessity of purchasing another desk for the office.

Sheriff J. M. Gilbert requested 400 members of a "call" and "file" and the 100 members of holding up person responsible of the privateer appropriated. He stated that this purchase would save the county money by preventing future issues for which the county would be held responsible. This request was granted.

All members of the board with the exception of Capt. J. P. Cook from Wakefield district were present.
